Sending Plaslink Images

If you are adding or have already added a link to your website or a part or product, many users find it useful to have a picture/diagram/sketch of the product(s) you are offering. If the image if for a part or product, it will be placed on the actual page. Therefore it can be quite large and detailed. If the image is to be attached to a link, it will go onto the page before this, therefore it will be much smaller. This is only important when choosing which image to send us. Any image you send us can be resized or croped to fit our frame.

You may send us a hard copy, of the image. We will scan this in via a scanner and hence you may lose some of the quality of the image. Any images on files you send to us must be in PC format. You may send the image either by e-mail, 3 1/2in disk, zip or CD (on a closed or unclosed CD). For larger images jpeg/jpg files are best. For smaller images gif files are best, however we can accept either.

Please bear in mind, the larger the size of the file (amount of memory eg. 10MB), the longer it will take to load. This may encourage the user to view another part because th photo is taking too long. We have a variety of techniques to speed up the loading of images eg. reduce the physical size, blur the image, crop the image etc. We will automatically try these techniques on images you send us, so please indicate to us if it is critical the image remains as original as possible.

At a later date, we may standardise the size of all the icons. For the best results, please ensure the all the images intended as icons you send to us are as square as possible.
